We’re thrilled to announce that Caveworld, the most exciting Play-to-Earn battle game on Solana, is integrating Chainlink Price Feeds and Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) to help provide players with user-friendly experiences defined by transparency and fairness as they navigate the Caveworld game. Built in Unreal Engine, Caveworld is one of Solana’s largest upcoming metaverse opportunities, allowing players to explore, battle, level up, and earn rewards all along the way. Why Chainlink VRF?

When it came time to determine how we would run our random number generation for choosing battle opponents, NFT reward distributions, and more, Chainlink VRF was an obvious choice for us. Based on cutting-edge blockchain technology, and supported by time-tested infrastructure, this tamper-proof and auditable on-chain RNG solution will help ensure users remain comfortable with all in-game outcomes.
How does it work?
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data, unknown at the time of the request, with the oracle node’s private key, to generate a random number with cryptographic proof. When Caveworld’s smart contract interacts with Chainlink VRF, it will not only ensure that all in-game outcomes use tamper-proof random numbers but will also require verifiable proof. If either one of those conditions are not met, the request will not be met. This means players can have complete assurance that no external bodies — whether users, players, or the Caveworld team — can manipulate the random number generation process.
Why Chainlink Price Feeds?
As Caveworld is denominated with CAVE coin, the Cavemen’s sole currency, we knew it was important for price feeds to be highly reliable and timely. Users should have access to accurate token prices, especially given the many exchanges and marketplaces spread throughout the ecosystem.
